ABOUT ME
Have you ever paid attention to the magical moments that follow a recording session?

“I would like to listen back!” The group says from the live room, and one by one shuffle into the control room. The room steadies and anticipation rises as the engineer taps play. Then the magic show begins.
Feelings in the room change. Excitement from band mates is passed through the room and joy becomes noticeable across their faces. They study their performances and an idea may pop into one of the musician heads. Suddenly they must give another take. They rush back into the live room and play the tune again until once again “Can I hear that back?” comes through a talk back microphone. It was in those moments that I discovered the reason why I loved music, and why I wanted to be a recording engineer.

As an intern I got to witness this magic show almost every day. It was universal. Genre to genre, performers both young and old were filled with childlike excitement upon entrance to the studio. Songs took form and grew right before my eyes. Passions were explored and the aftermath sat within the walls of the studio waiting for the next group of musicians to come and be infected with the same inspiration. I learned quickly that the studio was where I belonged. While interning, I met two men who helped fuel my desire to learn about recording and producing. Jeff Haitt, an engineer, and Ross Bellenoti, a producer, took me under their wings and taught me about technology being used and how producers act within sessions.
I was later exposed to other leading producers and engineers in the industry who’s work inspired me such as Mike Denneen, Sylvia Massy, Emily Wright, Mark Ronson, Pete Lyman, Ester Dean, and many more. Alongside studying at college for production and engineering, I obtained a second internship at Q Division Studios in Somerville, MA. I have had the pleasure of working with some artists that I hope to have allowed to experience in some form the magic shows I was exposed to early on. I hope to continue providing that sense of wonder and excitement for the clients I work with both now and in the future.
